Auch wenn nicht mehr viel dieses äusserst attraktiven Steins erhältlich ist, soll er hier der Vollständigkeit halber doch beschrieben werden. Der himmel- bis blassblaue Lazulith kommt in Kammern innerhalb von lagenförmigen Quarzmassen vor, die ihrerseits in Glimmerschiefern gelegen sind. Meist zeigt der Lazulith eine unregelmässig verzahnte Verwachsung mit milchigweissem oder gelbem Apatit und mit glasklarem Quarz. Das Lazulith Vorkommen, etwa 50 Meter unter dem Grat zwischen Hohtälligrat und Stockhorn stellt eine Phosphatlagerstätte dar. Recht viel Material wurde zu Schmucksteinen verarbeitet. Die Schmuckherstellung konnte allerdings die Nachfrage niemals befriedigen, denn die blauen Steine von Zermatt sind praktisch erschöpft.
